School Damaged as Severe Storm Passes Through Eastern North Carolina

A school gym in Deep Run, North Carolina, sustained roof damage as severe storms passed through eastern North Carolina on Wednesday, January 4.

Footage captured by J Mac Daughety shows the damaged roof and debris scattered in front of South Lenoir High School.

According to local news reports, there were students and coaches inside the gym at the time, but no one was hurt.

The roof was still intact structurally and the school was expected to open to students on Thursday, local media citing Lenoir County Public Information Officer Patrick Holmes reported .
