BOOP! Schitt's Creek has made history tonight at the 72nd Emmy Awards as the first show to ever sweep all seven main comedy categories.

This means the entire Rose family earned awards for their stunning performances, and IYKYK how big of a deal that is for our favorite matriarch Moira:

It has truly been a Schitt Storm (I'm sorry!) at the Emmys, with the crew also taking home awards for best writing and directing for a comedy series. Just to recap, the show has won for:

  • Best Comedy Series

  • Best Actress, Comedy: Catherine O’Hara

  • Best Actor, Comedy: Eugene Levy

  • Supporting Actor, Comedy: Daniel Levy

  • Supporting Actress, Comedy: Annie Murphy

  • Writing for a Comedy Series

  • Directing for a Comedy Series

  • Best Contemporary Costumes

  • Best Casting for a Comedy Series

This is the second year the show has been nominated, though it did not take home any awards in 2019. However, this time around, the comedy scored 15 nominations and won nine.

In just one of his many acceptance speeches, creator and star Dan Levy said, "Our show at its core is about the transformational effects of love and acceptance, and that is something that we need more of now than we've ever needed before. I just wanted to say, for any of you who have not registered to vote, please do so and then go out and vote because that is the only way that we're going to have some love and acceptance out there. Please do that. I'm so sorry for making this political, but I had to."

Naturally, a number of celebrities and fans were sharing their love for Schitt's Creek throughout the night, including a show-favorite Mariah Carey, who wrote, "Congrats @danjlevy!!! 🤩🤩🤩 You'll always be my David Rose 😘 xoxo"
