KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- The Securities Commission (SC) has confirmed that its managing director of corporate finance and investments, Eugene Wong Weng Soon, will step down following the completion of his contract in December 2019.
Wong informed the commission in May that he wished to leave at the end of his contract, the SC said in a statement today in response to various news articles on the upcoming departure of key senior staff members.
"After 10 years of service with the SC, Wong believed it was the right time for him to seek new challenges. He had given the SC eight months’ notice to ensure the completion of several major projects.
"The SC would like to thank Wong for his dedication and contribution to the development of the Malaysian capital market during his tenure with the SC," it said.
Earlier today, several media reported that Wong would be leaving the statutory body “to pursue other endeavours upon completion of his contract at the end of the year”, quoting a spokesperson.
The SC did not mention any other upcoming changes to its top management.
