'Savage': Ohio Firefighters Amused as Woman Across Street From Station Flouts No-Burn Ordinance

A woman was filmed burning a tree stump directly across the street from a fire station, as seen in a viral TikTok video recorded on April 28.

In the video, which has amassed over 2.7 million likes on TikTok, she is seen raking leftover wood chips onto the blazing mound, with a red gas container close by.

Christopher Prater, a local firefighter who recorded the video, told Storyful that he was sitting outside the Ironton Fire Department when he noticed the woman tending the fire in her yard, despite a no-burn ordinance in the city.

According to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, the state of Ohio prohibits burning “plant matter” in a village or city.

Speaking to Storyful, Prater said that other fire department members joined him laughing in amusement, but allowed the woman to continue because the fire was so small and wasn’t posing much of a danger.

“She didn’t even look at us. She didn’t care,” Prater said. “We heard her on the phone saying, ‘I guess they don’t care [because] they are sitting here watching us’,” he added. Credit: Christopher Prater via Storyful
