STORY: More flights to and from Israel will finally be allowed to fly over Saudi Arabia.
It comes after the Kingdom said it would open its airspace to all airlines - including those from Israel.
Some flights to and from Israel previously had to bypass Saudi airspace, adding to flight times and fuel costs.
U.S. President Joe Biden welcomed the decision.
He said it was a key step in building a more integrated and stable Middle East region.
Biden is due to visit Saudi Arabia on Friday (July 15) and become the first U.S. president to fly from Israel to Jeddah.
Despite progress on flights, the kingdom still does not recognise Israel.
It has said nothing of possible bilateral developments during Biden's visit.
Israel also refused to be drawn on such links.
