BBC One is making more changes to its daily programming to help viewers cope with self-isolation – including spinning off Saturday Kitchen Live.

The Beeb has ordered a new limited run series called Daily Kitchen Live, which will air every single weekday for two weeks in a row beginning later this month.

Like its weekend counterpart, Daily Kitchen Live will feature host Matt Tebbutt, but now he'll be joined by journalist Jack Monroe to help viewers spice up their menus in spite of limited resources.

Viewers will be able send in questions and also challenge Matt and Jack to whip up recipes using only ingredients they have in their cupboards at any given time. The duo will also be joined via video by their Food Heroes, like on Saturday Kitchen Live.

"I am really excited to be hosting this new show for the BBC," Matt said today (April 2). "It's going to be a great way to share some fun each morning with the viewers, while also sharing our ideas for quick and simple recipes that will get the whole family cooking."

Jack added: "The way some of us cook has changed dramatically over the last few weeks, and rustling up nutritious, no-nonsense dinners in the current climate can be a challenge – but it's incredibly important!

"I'll be giving simple ingredient swaps, conjuring up recipes from whatever you may have in your cupboard and taking questions from viewers. I can't wait to get started!"

The BBC has confirmed it will be following strict safety and social distancing guidelines while producing Daily Kitchen Live.
