Satellite Imagery Shows Reported Mass Grave Site West of Mariupol

Satellite imagery released by Maxar Technologies on Thursday, April 21, showed what it called a mass gravesite in a Ukrainian town located just over 12 miles (20 km) west of Mariupol.

According to Maxar, the images were captured adjacent to an existing cemetery in Manhush and showed new gravesites in the location that were prepared between mid-March and early April.

“The graves are aligned in four sections of linear rows (measuring approximately 85 meters per section) and contain more than 200 new graves,” Maxar said in a statement. Credit: Maxar Technologies via Storyful
