Satellite Imagery Captures Lightning Activity Across South as Stormy Weather Persists

Lightning activity across parts of the southern US was captured by a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellite, as stormy weather continued in the region on Friday, May 6.

The imagery, captured on Thursday, shows large swaths of lightning flashing across Texas and Louisiana and was captured using a specialized lightning mapper, according to the NOAA.
