KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 — Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri James Jemut Masing died in Kuching this morning.
His death in Kuching was confirmed by Parti Rakyat Sarawak secretary-general Datuk Janang Bungsu, national news agency Bernama reported.
According to the report, Masing who was also PRS president, died at the Normah Medical Centre at 7.05am.
Sarawak Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian also confirmed Masing’s death.
“Deepest condolences to the family of late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing. May his soul rest in peace.
“Sarawak lost an anak Sarawak who dedicated his whole life to serve and fight for Sarawak. I am privileged to be his colleague, friend and benefited from his wisdom, humours [sic], camaraderie over the years.” he posted on Facebook.
