Santa Claus visits favelas in Rio de Janeiro

Aiding a local effort to find donations for the children living in the slums of southern Brazil, a man dressed as Santa Claus delivered presents for more than a 100 kids just five days before Christmas.

Shirlei Carmo Da Silva, a resident in the favela known as City of God, reached out via social networks with pictures of some of the children in need of toys, clothing or even food.

The response was so big it enabled her and other volunteers to wrap a special something for 120 kids, up from the 30 they were expecting to reach.
