Sandara Park departs from YG Entertainment

15 May – After 17 years with YG Entertainment, Sandara Park recently announced that she has parted ways with the K-pop giant.

The news was announced by YG on 14 May in a press release that read, "We would like to share that YG Entertainment's contract with Sandara Park has expired. We thank her for staying with YG Entertainment for the last 17 years with special trust and love."

However, the company stressed that they will continue to support Park's future endeavours.

Park made her debut with YG through the K-pop group 2NE1 in 2009 and has continuously performed alongside fellow members CL, Minzy, and Park Bom until its disbandment in 2016.

2NE1 was hugely popular before they disbanded in 2016.
