San Francisco New Year's Fireworks Display Returns for First Time Since 2020

San Francisco’s public fireworks display returned on January 1, 2023 for the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, with colorful bursts seen over the Bay Bridge shortly after midnight.

The 2021 and 2022 events were cancelled due to the pandemic, but the city said earlier this year that a “sanctioned” display would again be held, and urged residents not to use illegal fireworks.
