San Francisco residents awoke to hazy skies on the morning of September 9, as numerous wildfires burning in the state cast an orange hue over the Bay Area.
This footage shows downtown San Francisco. Despite the apocalyptic backdrop, air quality was not as bad as in other areas in the state, officials said.
According to local meteorologists, a marine layer close to the city was buffering it from smoke.
