It can count steps just like other fitness trackers, but it will track other workouts too, such as running, rowing, and swimming. You don’t even need to activate it; the Watch 4 will automatically figure out what you’re doing and start measuring your heart rate. It will also measure your blood oxygen levels to help you manage your heart and lung endurance.

One reviewer on Amazon said: “I love that it auto-detects my walks after a while because I always seem to forget to tell it I'm going. It tells me how long it took me to go a mile and how many steps I took and the breakdown after the walk is over is nice.”

The Watch 4 is also great for overall health. If your family has a history of heart disease, you’ll be glad for the built-in ECG, as it can notify you if you have an irregular heart beat, which is a sign of possible atrial fibrillation. It’ll also keep track of your sleep, helping you make sure you have a solid 8 hours worth. It’ll even detect snoring and help you avoid it.

Another reviewer said he really appreciated the sleep tracking: “I'm not a health nut but the integration with Samsung Health is amazing. I do like to track my steps and sleep and this watch is awesome for that. For sleep, all I do is turn bedtime mode on and go to sleep. The watch does the rest. Monitors blood oxygen and how well you slept. Not sure how accurate it truly is but I do like knowing about how long I've slept.”

Since it’s connected to your phone, the Watch 4 also does more than just a normal watch. You can answer a call with a flick of your wrist, and send texts while on the go. Thanks to Google integration, you can also use it to pay for your coffee with Google Pay, get directions with Google Maps or just stream music from YouTube.
