Sammi Cheng thankful to Media Asia for 15 years of collaboration
24 Jan – Sammi Cheng recently took to social media to express her gratitude to Media Asia for their continuous collaboration, after winning yet another award for her song, "We Grew Up Like This".
The singer shared a couple of photos of her with the team from the said company and the numerous music accolades she won in 2019, writing, "It's been 15 years since I joined this company. Time went by and I forgot when I actually joined. The point is I never had any agreement with them, but for the past 15 years, they have given me space to create my own concept and make my own music. I also have a working team that I really like and a deep trust in the company, which is what I value the most."
"Now looking back after 15 years, it was a choice for me not to sign any contract, and it was a very good decision. In the past 15 years, I have built a mutual trust with the company. As it constantly adds new people, I felt like my family is extending, and we're progressing together," she added.
Sammi stated that to be accepting the latest award, she realised that one needs humility and hard work in order to move forward.
"Each step is not easy, but it is worth it. Entering this company for the 15th year, I want to thank each and every one of my colleagues. Tonight, allow yourself to be happy for the efforts you made in 2019. When I look back at this photo one day, I will remember winning the Global Chinese Ultimate Gold Song from RTHK this particular night," she added.
