Sam Smith has unveiled a new tattoo that gives a nod to their gender identity.

The singer, 28, shared in 2019 that they are non-binary and use they/them pronouns.

Their new arm inking appears to reflect that, as it features a short-haired figure without a shirt on posing in front of a mirror, while wearing high heels

The snap was posted on Instagram by tattoo and piercing shop The London Social, along with another of Smith standing alongside tattoo artist Miles Langford.

"ICON @samsmith Thanks for getting tattooed," said the caption.

Smith’s fans were impressed with the new etching, with many posting “love it” and saying it was “amazing”.

“Such a beautiful tattoo for a beautiful soul,” said one fan, while another said it was “amazing work on a one of a kind person”.

Strictly’s Neil Jones said it was “incredible”.

Smith came out as non-binary two years ago, writing on Instagram at the time: “Today is a good day so here goes... I’ve decided I am changing my pronouns to THEY/THEM.”
