Safawi Rasid and Syifa Melvin are now husband and wife
30 Nov – After neither denying nor confirming that they are tying the knot, it was recently revealed that JDT footballer Safawi Rasid and influencer Syifa Melvin are now officially married.
The couple tied the knot in a ceremony held on the night of 28 November at the Hilton Hotel in Petaling Jaya, with the nikah ceremony presided by Ustaz Khairil Nizam and Syifa's father Amirol Melvin Abdullah as the witness.
Safawi, real name Muhammad Safawi Rasid, presented a dowry in a form of a diamond ring to the 28-year-old sister of his bride, Syatilla Melvin, in an event that was attended by around 300 guests.
Among those seen at the wedding were Syatilla and actor husband Shaheizy Sam, actresses Uyaina Arshad and husband Raja Syahiran, as well as singer Nabila Razali and Head Coach of Harimau Malaya, Kim Pan Gon.
No members of the JDT team attended the ceremony, as they were having a friendly match against German club, Borussia Dortmund at the time.
