Sabrina Carpenter Says Opening for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Is a 'Childhood Dream Come True'
The pop singer is currently joining the superstar on the Latin American leg of her tour
Sabrina Carpenter still thinks it’s “Nonsense” that she ended up opening for one of her favorite artists on tour.
The pop star, 24, who is currently opening for the Latin American leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, opened up about experiencing what feels like a full-circle, career-defining moment in an interview with Who What Wear. The “Feather” singer explained she's still in disbelief about joining the pop superstar, 33, out on the road, but said it's been like “a dream come true.”
“I’m not gonna say I peed my pants because that sounds really graphic and maybe not sanitary,” the former Disney Channel star joked to the outlet, “but I think it really just caught me off guard.”

“It was very much a childhood dream come true,” Carpenter revealed of touring with the Grammy winner, who she says she’s admired for years.
She added, “I still probably have not processed it if I’m being completely honest with you.”
The “Nonsense” artist also spoke about how much respect she has for the “Anti-Hero” singer, and how far back their relationship goes.
Carpenter told Who What Wear that she first met Swift backstage at a concert when she was 17. “She had her cats with her,” the singer-songwriter recalled, revealing that they bonded over their love of cats.

The recording artist added that, nowadays, she feels the “Karma” singer’s support just as much. “To work with someone [who] cares about you as a person as well as an artist … that’s been the biggest gift for sure,” said the singer, who kicked off her first date on the Eras Tour in Mexico by playing old footage of her at age 9 singing Swift’s “Picture to Burn.”
Carpenter began her run on Swift’s acclaimed Eras Tour back in August for three dates in Mexico City. After Swift took a break from touring for a stint this fall, the duo continued their run of Latin American shows by playing three nights in Buenos Aires, Argentina over the weekend.

The pop singer also told Rolling Stone in an August interview that she hoped to learn from the headliner when joining her out on the road. “Watching her is a masterclass in itself,” she said of the Midnights artist. “Obviously, she’s very good with words.
