KOTA KINABALU, Jan 22 (Bernama) -- The Sabah state's 2019 financial statements, which are in the final stage of preparation, will be submitted to the National Audit Department (NAD) by end of this month, said state treasurer Rusdin Riman.
He expressed hope that the state would again receive a clean audit certificate from the Auditor-General (AG).
“If this could be realised, it would mean that we have achieved a new record by receiving an unqualified audit certificate (audit certificate without reprimand) from the AG for 20 consecutive years,” he said in a statement here today.
Rusdin said NAD's auditing process, involving the inspection and issuance of the audit certificates, was expected to run until March or April.
“To raise the competence in financial management, the Sabah State Treasury Department will implement job rotations whereby more than 20 staff members of various grades (WA41 to WA52) will be transferred to other departments or districts in Sabah.
"The exchange will also involve young staff, in line with the Chief Minister's (Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal) aim of rejuvenating and restructuring the civil service in Sabah,” he added. -- BERNAMA
