KOTA KINABALU, Nov 9 – Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) will add an addendum to its GE15 BN manifesto to ask for a deputy prime minister from the state, state chairman Datuk Bung Moktar Radin said.

Although the offer was first made by BN chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, he said that the state has to put it in as a request.

“That one must be from Sabah. Because we are the ones who have requested. That is an addition to the manifesto. But in principle, they have agreed,” Bung told reporters after a ceramah at Kampung Warisan in Sepanggar last night.

Bung said that Sabah BN is in the midst of drafting its own manifesto and it will be presented soon.

“We will present it soon, within the week. There’s only a few things to add – two or three, otherwise it’s perfect,” he added.

After leaving it out of the BN manifesto for GE15, Zahid said the offer to create three deputy prime minister posts still stands even if it was not included.

He said if BN wins in the upcoming GE15 and forms the new government, the three DPM posts will definitely be created, each to represent the peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak, along with ministerial portfolios to be decided later.

Pakatan Harapan mooted two prime ministers, one from the peninsula, and one from either Sabah or Sarawak in its GE15 manifesto.
