Russian troops may be entering another village in Kharkiv Oblast – ISW

Russians may have captured Hlyboke, north of Liptsi, Kharkiv Oblast, as footage released on June 7 indicates that Russians advanced to the south of Hlyboke and may have entered the village, reported Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on June 8.

Nazar Voloshyn, a spokesman for Khortytsia strategic troop grouping, on June 8 said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces retain control over most of Vovchansk. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted tactical counterattacks within the city. However, ISW cannot verify these reports.

Russian source noted that Ukrainian Armed Forces probably pushed invaders out of area north of Liptsy and southwest of Hlyboke, ISW writes.

It is noted that Russian troops have recently advanced southeast of Kupyansk and continued their offensive on the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line. Geolocation footage released on June 7 shows limited Russian advance northeast of Stepova Novoselivka, southeast of Kupiansk.

In this sector Russians tried to push in directions of:

  • northeast of Kupyansk in the area of Sinkivka

  • southeast of Kupyansk near Pishchane, Ivanivka, Andriivka

  • northwest of Kreminna near Makiivka, Nevske, Druzhelyubivka, Novosadove, Hrekivka

  • west of Kreminna near Terny and Torske

  • southwest of Kreminna in the area of Serebryanske forestry

In addition, Russians continued offensive operations in the Siverskyi sector near Bilohorivka, Zolotarivka, Vyymka and Rozdolivka.

Russian army recently advanced within the eastern outskirts of Chasiv Yar and continued offensive operations in the area on June 8. Geolocation footage released on June 8 indicates that units of the Russian 98th Airborne Division advanced in the Kanal neighborhood.

Russian forces also continued their offensive:

  • in the area of Kalynivka

  • in the area of Kanal and Novyi

  • in the area of Ivanivske

  • in the area of Klishchiivka and Andriivka

Russia claimed that its troops had advanced northwest of Avdiivka amid intensified offensive operations in the area. However, the ISW did not confirm this.

Russian troops advanced southwest of Donetsk. Geolocation footage shows that the invaders have recently advanced northwest of Solodke, Donetsk Oblast.

Russian sources claimed on June 8 that Russian army advanced near Robotyne, but ISW has not observed visual evidence to confirm these claims.

ISW observed that Russians conducted asault operations near Robotyne and Verbove, near Mala Tokmachka and Novopokrovka. They also launched an offensive to the west and northwest of Robotyne and south of Mali Shcherbaky.
