Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces have recently advanced near the town of Chasiv Yar and northwest of the town of Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast, the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported on June 7.

The enemy is continuing its offensive operations in the sector, advancing in the Chasiv Yar's northeastern Kanal Microraion, east of the town near Ivanivske, and southeast of it near Klishchiivka.

In its earlier May 22 report, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) suggested that Russia had used operations in northern Kharkiv Oblast to intensify a dangerous offensive on Chasiv Yar. If the town is seized, the enemy could advance toward the strategically important cities of Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, and Sloviansk.
