Russian missile hits Zaporizhzhia village - officials

STORY: Mykola, the son of the injured woman, told reporters at the site that together with local people, he found his mother covered by debris immediately after the missile exploded early in the morning.

Walking on crutches, he said that once he had made sure his son was unharmed, he went outside to find his mother covered in debris.

His neighbor Olha told Reuters she also came to Mykola's house after she had heard him shouting for help.

Mykola and his 7-year-old son left the frontline town of Preobrazhenka at the Zaporizhzhia frontline in April and were shortly after joined by his 72-year-old mother.

She's now being treated in a hospital, while Mykola and his son found refuge in a neighboring village.
