Russia destroys another Epicentr hypermarket in Kherson – Photo
A large-scale fire caused by the latest Russian attack burned the Epicentr home improvement hypermarket in Kherson to the ground, with no casualties reported, the Epicentr press service announced on June 6.

According to the Epicenter's press service, at night Russian troops carried out another terrorist attack, shelling Kherson's residential and social infrastructure. This is the second time since the beginning of the full-scale war that enemy hits the Epicenter shopping center at 37 Neftovykiv Street.
This facility has not been operating since May last year, when it was heavily damaged by artillery shelling. Three company employees died as a result of that attack. This time, there were no casualties or injuries.
After the first hits, fire extinguishing system was activated in the shopping center, but its capacity was not enough due to the high density of the shelling. Desperate efforts were also made by State Emergency Service to fight the fire, but they were forced to stop their work due to the risk of repeated attacks. As a result, shopping center with a total area of 16,600 square meters burned down.
The press service stated that this was the second Epicenter shopping center in Kherson destroyed by the enemy. In early February 2023, a 20,500-square-meter Epicenter shopping center at 17 Beryslavske Highway burned to the ground due to heavy artillery fire.
In total, since February 2022, seven Epicentr shopping centers have been completely destroyed: in Mariupol, Chernihiv, Bucha, Nikopol, Kharkiv and two in Kherson with a total area of over 125,600 square meters.

Two shopping centers in Kramatorsk and Kharkiv are temporarily out of operation due to damage and proximity to the combat zone. Total area of these facilities is 46,500 square meters. Another shopping center in Melitopol (5,430 square meters) is under occupation. Thus, as a result of the large-scale military aggression, Epicenter already lost 10 facilities that were completely destroyed, occupied or damaged, with a total area of over 177,500 square meters.
Earlier it was reported that on May 25 at 4:02 p.m. EET in Kharkiv, two CABs hit the Epicentr, which caused a fire on an area of more than 10 thousand square meters. There were about 200 people in the store.

On May 28, local governor, Oleh Syniehubov, said that Russian troops attacked Epicenter hypermarket in Kharkiv on May 25 with three UMBP D-30 munitions.
An unexploded munition was found 80 meters from the Epicenter construction hypermarket.
Nineteen people were killed in that attack.
