Russia claims attack on Crimea with eight Storm Shadow missiles
Explosions rung out in occupied Sevastopol on Oct. 30. Russia’s Ministry of Defense alleged an attack involving eight Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
Russia claimed their air defense successfully intercepted all incoming missiles aimed at Crimea. Kremlin-appointed “governor” Mikhail Razvozhayev said they purposely downed two of the missiles.
Ukrainian officials have not officially commented on the reported explosions in Sevastopol and their aftermath.
Telegram channels reported smoke over the city, particularly near the naval plant, and suggested potential impacts on the Novofedorivka airfield.
Russia claimed explosions in Sevastopol and reported an attack by two naval drones during the night of Oct. 30. Russian Telegram channels also mentioned an attack on the missile defense system operated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, with claims of injuries to 17 military personnel.
Ukraine confirmed that they successfully targeted a strategic air defense system on the western coast of Crimea.
