Some 200,000 personnel are taking part in Zapad-2021, a week of joint Russia-Belarus military exercises. Army aviation crews train using helicopter "carousel" tactics, to provide air cover for advancing ground units. The crews of the Mi-35 and Mi-24 helicopters use Shturm-V or Attack-M anti-tank missiles for air strikes, as well as S-8 unguided aircraft missiles and standard on board armament of helicopters. At the Brest training ground in Belarus, motorised riflemen of the Russian Western Military District practise against a mock enemy.
