Rupert Grint has given a rare interview about his relationship with Georgia Groome, saying they are "kind of the same person." Grint also spoke about the challenges and benefits to becoming new parents during lockdown.

The couple have been together a decade, welcoming their first child - a girl named Wednesday - back in May 2020. They are notoriously private about their relationship, which was not publicly confirmed for almost seven years.

Speaking to Glamour, Grint has given a rare insight into his relationship with the Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging star, explaining why it works.

"It’s a very natural thing - we’re just best friends," he explained. "We’re kind of the same person; we think the same way. That’s always made it work - that’s why it’s lasted. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is, but it works and it’s great."

The Harry Potter star also spoke about the challenges of becoming a new dad during a pandemic.

"Yeah, it’s been tough," he said. 'It’s a time when you want as much support as you can get from your family and your friends; it’s a very isolating thing, this lockdown, so we really have kind of been on our own. But there’s positives with that. It’s been great to work everything out for ourselves, without so many opinions. We’ve really bonded with Wednesday. It’s been intense, but great."

Earlier this month Grint spoke about the experience of parenthood, saying "It was something I never really had much of an idea of, that kind of love. It's a very different love. It's very strange. It definitely has kind of changed my perspective on things but also in a helpful way."

Very adorable stuff.
