Rozita Rohaizad resorts to penny-pinching to stay in Australia

2 Dec - Singer-actress Rozita Rohaizad recently revealed that she had to scrimp and save while in Sydney, Australia due to her financial situation following an event delay.

The veteran performer, who had been in the country since 2 November to be a part of the Malaysia Festival in Belmore Park, stated that she only had money for a two-week stay in Australia, seeing that she was supposed to be there for that amount of time.

"Originally, I'd be involved in several other programmes including a small performance on 5th and a radio interview on 6th. The Malaysia Festival performance was supposed to be held on 12th and 13th," she said.

However, things went awry when the event was postponed to 26th and 27th November.

Rozita, who is also the daughter of legendary singer-actress Mariani, stated that she was supposed to return on the 15th.

"I really had to save money while I'm here. But I really am thankful to receive a lot of help from friends here, as well as the Malaysian Airlines and Malaysia Hall," she added.

This is the fifth time that Rozita joined the said festival, with this year's theme being Malaysia's traditional music as well as the songs of P. Ramlee and her aunt, Saloma.
