Rosyam Nor supportive of new cigarette ban proposal

2 Aug – Rosyam Nor recently expressed support for the Health Minister's new proposed Control of Tobacco Product and Smoking Act 2022.

The actor, who spoke about the proposed bill, which includes prohibition of smoking, buying or possessing tobacco products or smoking devices by the Generational End-Game (GEG) or individuals, born in 2007 onwards, stated that he is a hundred percent in support of it.

"I have smoked since I was 18. I have wasted a lot of money on it. At my age now at 55, I get breathless easily, even when I climbed up the stairs," he expressed.

Rosyam also added that he has no qualms getting involved in any campaign related to the said effort if necessary.

At the same time, the actor-producer expressed hope that the bill will be supported by everybody, as it is made to create a generation free from smoking and thus reducing cigarette smuggling activities in Malaysia.
