Rosyam Nor apologises for opinion regarding prostitution dens

10 Jan – Rosyam Nor has recently apologised for the recent viral clip of his controversial take on the existence of prostitution dens in Malaysia.

Speaking about the clip from his podcast that had since sparked anger among many Malaysians, the actor said that he never expected it to go viral and caused misunderstanding among the public.

"There has been a commotion these days about the brothel issue... In any case, I apologise in advance because I did not think this thing would go viral," he said in a video shared on Instagram.

"It was just a promotional clip for my podcast on Suhan Channel where the topic was 'Dirty Mind'. It is just a discussion. If you have time, go to Suhan Channel and watch the whole thing."

Despite his explanation, many took to the comments to slam the actor, saying that his opinion is against the Malaysian laws and the official religion of Islam.

In the clip that had since been circulating online, Rosyam stated that prostitution dens are necessary for the 'convenience' of male foreigners who mostly leave their wives in their countries when they come to work in Malaysia.

However, Rosyam insisted that this is only his personal view.
