Rocketfuel says Ernie Zakri decides not to perform "Astana"

12 Dec – Rocketfuel Entertainment recently revealed that it was Ernie Zakri's own decision not to perform her song, "Astana" at the upcoming semifinal of "Muzik-Muzik 38".

The statement, which was pinned in the comments section of its Instagram post about Nadeera replacing the said singer as the performer for the song, read, "[Rocketfuel Entertainment] respects the decision of the original singer not to perform the song."

However, the statement was not received well by fans, who said that the label should announce it in front of the media alongside Ernie.

"We want Ernie to sing this song, not Nadeera. Nadeera is great, but we want Ernie. How many times have this happened?" said one netizen.

Another posted, "We have voted for this song and for Ernie. But then suddenly another singer takes over."

Others accused Rocketfuel of doing such to Ernie due to the fact that the singer decided to sign with Universal Music Malaysia back in July following the end of her contract.

It is noted that the song "Astana" was written and composed by Omar K, Shazriq Azeman and Ernie herself, as well as her husband, Syamel.
