Robotic car uses AI to deliver care home medicine

Robots are delivering medicine around London

This autonomous vehicle is called Kar-go

and is being trialed with care homes

WILLIAM SACHITI, FOUNDER OF THE ACADEMY OF ROBOTICS SAYING:

"Kar-go is a self-driving car where if you buy something online it should be able to deliver it to your house within 30 minutes.”

It can:

- Carry up to 48 parcels

- Reach speeds of 60mph

- Take 3 hours to charge

It makes deliveries cheaper and more eco-friendly

and uses AI for its route and to sort parcels

(SOUNDBITE) (English) WILLIAM SACHITI, FOUNDER OF THE ACADEMY OF ROBOTICS SAYING:

"Think of it as a sort of post office sorting office on wheels. So there’s a bit of robotics in the vehicle where it can move packages around so it can deliver up to a dozen packages in any order. So it can go to your house and then a hatch opens at the back and there’s your package.”
