Robert Mak is now free of COVID-19

7 Aug – After expressing his envy over fellow colleague Lau Siu Kwan being discharged from hospital since recovering from COVID-19, it was finally Robert Mak's turn to smell the fresh air.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who likened being discharged as winning the lottery, filmed a video to share the good news, saying that the news of his discharge was like a bolt from the blue for him.

"It felt like cheating death, and I have now realised that health is more valuable than wealth. I hope that everybody will continue to pay attention to their hygiene, and to wear a mask and wash hands frequently when you are out in public," he said.

Robert also thanked the doctors for their care throughout his treatment.

At the same time, the actor expressed his wish for everybody who is still fighting the coronavirus - including fashion designer William Tang - to recover as soon as possible.

Robert was hospitalised two weeks ago after being diagnosed with COVID-19 - making him the second celebrity to contract the virus following singer Zaina Sze, whose manager Apple Lau was also Robert's girlfriend.
