Riot Police Called Into Action Following Champions League Clash

Riot police were called into action following Eintracht Frankfurt’s 1-0 defeat of Marseille at the French side’s Stade Velodrome on September 13.

In footage captured by videographer Nicolas Mercier, riot police are seen stationed outside of the stadium, before making their way through the streets of the French city, as sirens and the sound of breaking glass are heard.

A large crowd is also seen running at one point, while an officer is also heard telling the crowd to “leave the premises immediately”.

The scenes followed reports of opposing fans launching flares and fireworks at each other before the game kicked off. Credit: Nicolas Mercier via Storyful
