Rihanna Confirms Her Attendance at 2025 Met Gala as Partner A$AP Rocky Is Set to Co-Chair
The 2025 gala, which is themed 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' is set to be co-chaired by Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton and more
Rihanna is set to attend the 2025 Met Gala, accompanying her longtime boyfriend A$AP Rocky as he co-chairs the iconic event.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, Oct. 24, the 36-year-old Fenty Beauty owner revealed that she doesn't know her and the rapper's exact fashion plans quite yet, but confirmed that she will indeed be in attendance on May 5, 2025, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
"He didn't tell me anything," she revealed. "All we have planned is to be there."
"I'm not worried about him. I'm worried about what I'm gonna do," she laughed, adding that Rocky is always willing to help her figure out her fashion plans for big events like these.
"I never ask him for help, but he's always willing to help," she continued. "You can come to him even if you're an opp and say, 'Can you help me on my project, give me advice?' And he will give you advice. I've seen it."

The 2025 Met Gala co-chairs are Rocky, Colman Domingo, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour, alongside honorary chair LeBron James. The group is a mix of Met Gala veterans as well as newcomers, who are set to honor the Costume Institute's spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Per Vogue, the exhibit draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity and will "feature garments, paintings, photographs, and more — all exploring the indelible style of Black men in the context of dandyism, from the 18th century through present day." Miller will serve as a guest curator for the show with Costume Institute Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton.
According to Vogue, Miller said that dandyism could be defined as “dressing wisely and well.” She also described it as “a strategy and a tool to rethink identity, to reimagine the self in a different context. To really push a boundary—especially during the time of enslavement, to really push a boundary on who and what counts as human, even.”

Rihanna is a Met Gala veteran in her own right, making her first debut at the fashion event in 2009 wearing an ethereal white Georges Chakra halter gown embellished with crystals.
She's appeared on the red carpet over a dozen times since then. Some of her best looks have become iconic in the history of the Gala, especially her papal-inspired Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano look for 2018's "Heavenly Bodies" theme.

A$AP Rocky has had a handful of memorable Met Gala appearances as well. In 2021, he made his debut alongside Rihanna in a massive multicolored quilt. In 2023, the couple made their mark and shut down the red carpet once again in looks that honored the late Karl Lagerfeld.
Rihanna wore a massive white Maison Valentino gown with a long, sweeping train and matching cape covered in textured rosettes. She topped the look off with opera-length fingerless gloves and a pair of white sunglasses with faux eyelashes attached.
The rapper wore a Gucci look featuring a black blazer, a white collared dress shirt, and a red plaid pleated kilt layered over a pair of bedazzled jeans, a direct reference to a similar look Lagerfeld wore to close out a Chanel runway show in 2004.
