You Can Ride This Glass-Domed Train Through the Mountains From Colorado to Utah

Travelers will soon have the chance to ride a new luxury train through some of the most beautiful areas of the southwestern United States.
Aptly named the "Rockies to the Red Rocks" route, it will take passengers on a two-day ride from Denver, Colorado to Moab, Utah—two areas known for their stunning scenery. Along the way, there will be an overnight stop in Glenwood Springs, a small town in Colorado famous for its hot springs.
Rushing rivers, desert cliffs, and mountain vistas will be visible from every angle during the journey, because of the train's most unique feature: Oversized glass-dome windows. If you get bored of the views (as if that's possible!), you can turn your attention to the delicious cuisine and bustling social scene onboard.
Rocky Mountaineer, the company behind the excursion, already operates three luxury trains in Western Canada.
"The work to find a new route has been underway for several years," Steve Sammut, president and chief executive officer of Rocky Mountaineer, said in a statement. "We needed to find a special location with many of the same features we have in Western Canada: incredible scenery, iconic destinations, and the option for an all daytime, multi-day journey that is best experienced by train."
If everything goes according to plan, Rockies to the Red Rocks will have all of that and more when the train leaves the station in August 2021.
"The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on the travel industry, and there is continued uncertainty of when tourism will recover," Steve said. "However, we believe American travelers, and those from around the world, will be eager to explore this region by rail with us and we look forward to welcoming them in 2021 and beyond."
