KUCHING, March 22 (Bernama) -- RHB Banking Group has announced that its RHB Islamic Bank Jalan Satok Branch here will be temporarily closed from tomorrow until March 31 for cleaning and sanitization in accordance with the Health Ministry’s guidelines.
In a statement tonight, the Group said one of its staff at the branch is an immediate family member of a mother and daughter who had succumbed to COVID-19 in Sarawak, which was reported by the Health Ministry yesterday.
“The employee has been sent for screening and is currently under home-quarantine since March 18 (and) we are taking all necessary precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of our customers, employees and our community,” it said.
As added precautions, all RHB employees from this branch have also been placed under 14-day home quarantine and its group managing director, Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli, said they are assisting the relevant authorities with contact tracing efforts.
“We would like to assure our customers that there is no disruption to our banking services arising out of this closure. Customers of RHB Islamic Bank - Cawangan Jalan Satok can go to the nearest RHB branch to conduct their transactions during the Movement Control Order period,” he added, while encouraging RHB customers to use internet and mobile banking services, as well as self-service terminals.
