Retiring K9 Presented with a Bowl of Whipped Cream During Send-Off by Florida Police Department — Watch!

In a video posted by the department, an officer could be heard over the radio thanking Bane for his service and saying, "I’ll miss you"

A beloved canine is getting quite the send-off from one Florida Police Department.

The Fort Walton Beach Police Department shared on social media that it gifted soon-to-be retired police K9 Bane with a whipped cream treat to thank him for five years of service.

In the video shared by the department, Bane’s handler, Officer Trujillo, could be seen pressing out some whipped cream from a can into a silver doggie bowl. “This is why I reasoned the afternoon shift, because it would blow up the back of my car,” the officer could be heard telling others, possibly referring to the dog’s flatulence.

After he was done spreading the whipped cream, Bane went to sit patiently by his side while waiting for the officer to give him the treat. He activated his radio and said, “414, show Bane 3-7,” before commanding the dog to “sit” next to him.

A person responded over the radio saying, “Just want to thank you. I’ll miss you. You’ve been a great release dog… Thank you for all your service,” as the officer dropped the bowl in front of Bane, who spent no time licking it all up.

“Thank you for keeping our city and our officers safe during your dedicated years of service,” the department wrote on Facebook. “Enjoy your retirement Bane, you deserve it buddy!”

Bane was discharged from the Fort Walton Beach Police Department due to medical reasons. Following his exit from the department, the Fort Walton Beach Police Department noted that the canine would “continue to enjoy life” with his handler and his family.

Others commented that they were happy to hear that Bane would be staying with his partner, Officer Trujillo, in the future. One person wrote, “I love that he get to go home with his handler.” Another said, “I love that K9 Officer Bane gets to retire with his handler and best friend!!!”

Another person explained that Bane and Officer Trujillo likely developed a strong bond over the years after training together at the academy, and officers often take their K9 with them home, so it “only makes sense.”
