Residents in Jackson, Miss., left without safe drinking water

About 150,000 residents in Jackson, Mississippi, are relying on bottled water after the city’s water treatment plant failed, forcing schools and many businesses to close.

DANYELLE HOLMES: This has been an issue for me since I came down here to Tougaloo College in 1991. I was always told not to drink that water. When I came here to Jackson, it was smelling like chlorine.

ASHLEY TOSÉ: We need something to happen because for it to be going on for years, I honestly don't even want to bathe my baby in Jackson's water.

KENDRA PAYNE: It's sad. And I can't even afford to move out of Jackson so I have to stay here and deal with this.
