Residents Evacuated as Three-Alarm Fuel Facility Fire Burns in Cornelius, Oregon

Emergency crews responded to a three-alarm fire at an ethanol fuel facility that prompted evacuations and caused traffic delays in Cornelius, Oregon, on March 16.

Video filmed by Twitter user @Rvz_71 shows an ambulance and police near the facility, where black smoke is seen billowing into the sky.

Cornelius Fire Department and Oregon State Fire Marshal’s hazardous materials team reported to the scene as people were advised to avoid the area.

Approximately 80 homes were evacuated during the fire, which was expected to be a long duration event lasting until at least 7 pm, local media reported.
