Residents of California's Kern County Under Evacuation Orders After Kern River Swells
Residents around the Kern River in south-central California were under evacuation orders on Friday, March 10, after an atmospheric river hit the state.
Residents in Riverkern and parts of Kernville were ordered to evacuate due to the river’s water levels, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
The area remained under a flash flood emergency, said the National Weather Service.
