Republic Records Names Brett Alperowitz Executive VP of A&R

Brett Alperowitz has been promoted to executive vice president of A&R for Republic Records, as announced today by Wendy Goldstein, the label’s president of West Coast creative.

Alperowitz, who was named senior VP in 2015, maintains his role of General Manager of Casablanca Records. He will continue to sign, develop, and cultivate talent for Republic Records and simultaneously oversee the imprint Casablanca Records. He is based in the Republic Records New York headquarters.

He joined the Republic Records team in 1995 as the start-up’s third employee and signed one of 2020’s breakthrough artists, Benee, in addition to talent such as Kungs, Milky Chance, Volbeat, and more over the years. Under the Casablanca banner, he has overseen the success of Felix Jaehn, SG Lewis, Tiësto, and many other international electronic music stars.

Regarding this promotion, Goldstein commented, “Brett has been integral to the success of both Republic and Casablanca. He’s consistently identified, signed, and developed career artists who have left an indelible impact on music. This keen instinct and his diehard work ethic are traits that galvanize the entire A&R department.”

“It’s been an incredible journey with Republic. Monte, Avery and Wendy are visionaries and innovators. I’m grateful for their continued support and leadership,” commented Alperowitz. “Republic owes its success to our phenomenal artists and staff. Music fans have a lot of choices. We’re competing for their time and attention. Now more than ever, we are focused on developing and breaking essential artists. Our creative objectives can’t happen without an elite marketing, promotion and legal team, with whom I am extremely fortunate to work.”
