Reports One Killed as Police Fire Rubber Bullets at Protesting Students in Johannesburg

Students protesting in Johannesburg on Wednesday, March 10, said police were using rubber bullets and stun grenades to disperse them, as graphic video circulated showing a wounded man who was said to have died.

The protests were sparked by Wits University’s decision not to allow students with outstanding fees owing to register for the 2021 academic year.
