Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly turned around his attitude at Man Utd with the Premier League club now reaping the benefits of his hard work.

The Argentina under-20 international is having a breakthrough season at Old Trafford after winning the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award in the youth teams last season.

Garnacho scored twice in the FA Youth Cup final last term to help Man Utd lift the trophy for the first time since 2011 and now Erik ten Hag has incorporated him in the senior squad.

The 18-year-old was given his first Premier League start last weekend in a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa before climbing off the bench against the same opponents in the League Cup in midweek.

Garnacho helped turn the game in United’s favour with the Spain-born youngster contributing two assists in a 4-2 win at Old Trafford.

That form has led to him being called up to the extended Argentina squad for the World Cup in Qatar with Lionel Scaloni to decide his final picks on Sunday.

But Garnacho has had to work hard this season to impress Ten Hag with the Man Utd manager unhappy earlier in the season after ‘the teenager walked out of training with his laces untied’.

And the Daily Mail has explained how he has turned his attitude around and that his issues on the training ground and around the club are now ‘solved’.

The Man Utd youngster ‘learned the error of his ways some time ago’ with Ten Hag’s ‘tough love on tour had the desired effect and United are now reaping the benefits of keeping him on the straight and narrow’.

It is described by the newspaper as a ‘blip’ and the Man Utd staff have noticed a ‘notable change in his attitude’ with Garnacho now ‘among the first to training’.

The report adds:

‘Garnacho had already requested a personalised gym programme from United’s fitness staff to build muscle mass in the hope that this would be his breakthrough season at the club. Sources say his physique has developed impressively since he arrived at the club, and the coaches are delighted with his commitment in the gym.

‘He also been working closely with a nutritionist outside the club to make sure his diet meets the demands required, and is nearly fluent in English after taking regular language lessons.’

They also note that new Man Utd signing Lisandro Martinez has ‘taken on the role of older brother’ to help nuture the talented youngster and give him advice.
