Congresswoman Ilhan Omar joined local officials to call for police reform in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, on April 20.
Footage filmed by Brendan Gutenschwager shows Omar making remarks on the trial of Derek Chauvin, the officer charged with the death of George Floyd.
“The case, to me, feels like a closed case, where it shouldn’t be really even a question whether there will be an acquittal or a verdict that doesn’t meet the scale of the crime that was committed,” Omar said.
