Remnants of Storm Bella Bring Heavy Snowfall to the Pyrenees

Heavy snow fell across the Pyrenees on the border of France and Spain as the remnants of Storm Bella continued to affect the region on December 30, local media reported.

A number of Spanish provinces were put under orange or yellow weather warnings due to snow, gusts of wind of up to 80 kph (about 50 mph), and temperatures dropping to -6 C (about 21 F), local media said.

In France, more than 30 cm (about 12 inches) fell in the western Pyrenees overnight into December 30, Meteo Pyrenees said.
