Relative calm in Beijing after weekend protests

STORY: The protests were triggered by a fire in China's Xinjiang region last week that killed 10 people who were trapped in their apartments. Protesters said lockdown measures were partly to blame, though officials denied that.

China’s capital Beijing reported 957 symptomatic new locally transmitted COVID-19 infections and 3,429 asymptomatic cases for Monday (November 28), local government authorities said on Tuesday.
