A herd of bison were filmed walking across a road with their red-colored, newly-born calves at Antelope Island State Park in Utah.
This video recorded by Carl Aldrich, a state park ranger, was shared on Facebook by Antelope Island State Park on April 13, welcoming the newly born animals.
“They’re here! ‘Little Reds’ are starting to appear on the island. Bison calves will only keep their red color for a few months,” the post said.
The National Park Service says that bisons’ birthing season typically begins around mid-April and the animals begin grazing with their herd within one week of being born. Credit: Carl J Aldrich via Storyful
