Red Arrows Fly Over London to Mark VE Day

The Royal Air Force’s Red Arrows flew over London on May 8 to mark VE Day, commemorating 75 years since the end of fighting in Europe during World War Two.

#VEDayatHome was trending across the UK, as people prepared to mark the event at home. A two-minute silence was to be held at 11 am, followed by a number of BBC programmes, including a national singalong to We’ll Meet Again. Queen Elizabeth was due to give a televised speech at 9 pm.
