The reason Grimes just posted a topless picture to Instagram
From her pregnancy announcement back in January to that incredible Rolling Stone cover in March, Grimes has always been effortlessly cool on social media. Now, in her latest Instagram post she's poses topless with a friend to promote a new exciting role.
In the post, she and her friend Liv Boeree pose in the mirror with some artful body paint covering their torsos (plus a couple of heart emojis because of Instagram's views on nipples, sigh). In the post the singer unveils her new role as a 'cyborg popstar' in an upcoming video game called Cyberpunk 2077, an action role-playing game due to be released by CD Projekt on 10th December.
The post comes roughly seven months after Grimes and Elon Musk welcomed their first child together, on May 4th. After announcing the birth of their baby boy on Twitter, Musk responded to fans asking the baby's name with a tweet saying, "X Æ A-12 Musk." Of course, this instantly led to endless speculation about how exactly you pronounce the name, with one Twitter user eventually coming forward with the most reasonable explanation, breaking down each part of the name and theorising that it's actually pronounced "X Ash Archangel".
She's made up an un-pronounceable name, auctioned off a piece of her soul for an art exhibition (yes, you heard) and now she's playing a cyborg popstar, Grimes has had a busy year.
